The 2011 WWE Extreme Rules pay per view took place last night in Tampa, FL. Three championships changed hands and the company’s newest diva made her debut. Below are the results.
Dark match: Sin Cara defeats Tyson Kidd via pin fall.
1. Randy Orton defeats CM Punk in a Last Man Standing match after an RKO off the top rope.
2. Kofi Kingston defeats Sheamus in a Tables match for the United States Championship after sending Sheamus through a table.
3. Michael Cole and Jack Swagger defeat Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler in a Country Whipping match when Cole rolls up Ross for the pin.
4. Rey Mysterio defeats Cody Rhodes in a Falls Count Anywhere match after spitting green mist in Rhodes’ eye, followed by a roll up.
5. Layla defeats Michelle McCool via pin fall in a No DQ match with a back slide. Because of the loss, McCool must leave Smackdown. Khrama (the former Awesome Kong) then made her debut and laid McCool out with an Implant Buster.
6. Christian defeats Alberto Del Rio in a Ladder match to win the vacant World Heavyweight Championship by retrieving the title first. Edge and Christian celebrated in the ring after the bout.
7. Kane and Big Show defeated Ezekiel Jackson and Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett via pin fall in a Lumberjack match to retain the WWE Tag Team Championship when Show pinned Barrett after a Chokeslam.
8. John Cena defeats The Miz and John Morrison via pin fall in a Steel Cage match, pinning Miz after an Attitude Adjustment from the top rope. Cena is now the new WWE Championship.
The show was pretty solid from top to bottom. What I found interesting is that both World Titles were retained at Wrestle Mania but both of them changed hands last night.
-“Very enjoyable show, was very happy Christian won,” said Warren resident Steve I.
-“I hate Cena and are truly sick of him being champion,” said Hartland resident Jeff L.
_”I honestly thought this show was on par with Wrestle Mania, excluding the HHH-Taker match," said Redford native Rick N.
