Election Results Singapore 2011

Some chose to watch the results in places such as coffeeshops and pubs, such as St James Power Station.

While most went to the pub for the atmosphere, others were really concerned about the results.

One said: "We feel very involved in the entire process. People keep saying the young are apathetic -- it's not true.

"For the past few weeks, my friends and I have been really discussing the issues because we really care about the outcome at the end of the day.

Others, meanwhile, gathered at friends' homes to watch the election results coverage.

One of them is 49-year-old Fuelcor Global CEO Dinesh Senan, who was at his friend's home in Sentosa Cove.

He said: "It's a good opportunity for the younger generation of Singaporeans to hear the kind of concerns that we have.

"We don't have any natural resources... So we need to be extremely concerned about who are the people we have in Parliament."

Mr Dinesh's son, 15-year-old Nikhil Senan, said: "The biggest concern I have is whether people are making rational or irrational decisions when it comes to voting".
