Casey Anthony Trial

Before the jury selection process began in Clearwater Monday morning, Judge Belvin Perry dealt yet another setback to Casey Anthony's lawyers.
Perry ruled air samples from Casey's car that expert witnesses say are consistent with human decomposition will be allowed as evidence during the trial.
The ruling fits in to the prosecution's plan to relatively new science that utilizes odor and atmospheric samples as evidence. The defense had characterized such evidence as "junk science."
Casey is accused of killing her 2-year-old daughter Caylee in 2008.
Prosecutors believe the child's body was in the trunk of Casey's car at one point.
Last month, Perry allowed controversial chloroform evidence. An expert in the field of human decomposition said the amount of chloroform found in the trunk of Casey's car was 10,000 times more than he would expect to see.
Prior to that, Perry ruled that other critical evidence can be used at trial, including a stain the trunk of the car, a strand of hair also found in the trunk, cadaver dog reaction and residue found on duct tape placed across Caylee's mouth.
Some legal experts say the rulings mean rough going for the defense.
