Ek Tha Tiger

Bollywood hearthrobs Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif will scorch the screen together after a gap of three years, in a romantic thriller under the Yash Raj Films banner, a first for the 'Dabanng' superstar.

“I am doing Kabir's film...Katrina is there in the film. But it is not a superhero film. I can't say what the film is about. I am honoured to work with Yashji who has worked closely with my father in the past," said Salman.

"It is a very ambitious project and will be a challenge for all of us, but that's exactly what makes it such a big draw," he said.

The film, produced by Aditya Chopra is written and directed by Kabir Khan of 'New York' fame. Titled 'Ek Tha Tiger', it is Salman's first film under the YRF banner and will go on floors in early July and release in mid-2012. The music will be scored by Pritam.

Yash Chopra described the project as a 'happy moment' for him. "Everyone knows my association with Salim saab, having worked together on 'Deewaar', 'Trishul' and 'Kaala Patthar'. It is a very happy moment for me and YRF to have his son Salman with us for the first time. Over the years, Salman has become a very matured and talented actor and both he and the beautiful Katrina have a tremendous connect with their audiences."
Chopra said with Kabir's edgy directorial skills, he was looking forward to a thrilling movie.

Salman and Katrina were first seen together in 2005 in 'Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya', directed by David Dhawan. The couple again shared screen space in Dhawan's 'Partner' starring Salman and Govinda in the lead roles although the star was paired opposite Lara in the 2007 blockbuster.
A year later in Subhash Ghai's 'Yuvvraaj' the two actors were paired opposite each other but the movie bombed at the box office.

Now, Salman would be seen opposite Asin in Anees Bazmee's 'Ready', a comedy that releases on June 3. "I am all looking forward for 'Ready'. I just hope we stand up to the expectations," he said.

The 45-year-old actor will also be seen in brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri's up-coming romantic-action film 'Bodyguard' opposite Kareena Kapoor, slated to release on August 31 this year.
Directed by brother Sohail Khan, Salman's next film will be 'Sher Khan', followed by Sajid Nadiadwala's 'Kick' with Shirish Kunder. Then there will be 'Banda Yeh Bindaas Hai' an up-coming comedy film directed by Ravi Chopra, starring Salman, Lara Dutta, Govinda, Tabu and Boman Irani among others.

About the status of the film, Salman said, "We have completed the film...Chopra sahib is not keeping well...so shayad release aataka hua hai (so the release is on a halt)."

The director was served with a legal notice in 2009 by 20th Century Fox, which charged that the movie blatantly plagiarised the 1992 Hollywood comedy film 'My Cousin Vinny'.
Chopra and the production company, Mumbai-based BR Films, denied the charges in court in May 2009 but the movie's release was delayed until June 2009 by order of the Bombay High Court. The film is expected to release in July this year.
